Claims Against Insurance Companies
Claims Against Insurance Companies – You may have a claim against your insurance company. Perhaps it is on an automobile policy or a homeowner’s policy. Maybe a business policy. You think your insurance company will be on your side, but the adjuster is challenging your claim. What are your obligations to the insurance company? What is the adjuster entitled to have?
How do you navigate the policy, all of which seems like technical fine print? There are things you can do that could either help or hurt your claim. How do you know what might help and what might hurt?
If your claim is for an injury, your insurance company may want you to be examined by one of their doctors. Their doctors are likely to take sides with the insurance companies who hire them. (There is really no other reason the insurance company would want the exam.) Do you have to go along with it? How do you behave at the exam? What do you say, or not say, to the doctor?
If your insurance company is not willing to deal with you fairly, you can file a lawsuit for your claim. In many cases, the insurance company can be required to pay your attorney fees if you win. We can tell you whether your claim qualifies for recovery of your attorney fees, and we can represent you on the contingency that there will be no attorney fee if you don’t win.
